Reclaim the Streets (Episode 8)

Episode 8

Eventually the KRON news van showed up on the scene; as you'll see, their side of the story was remarkably different from what you've seen thus far in my vidcast.

Please tell me if you feel the news coverage of the event seems accurate to you, I'd love to hear your thoughts...

The news coverage gave the context for the raw video.

Josh this is a good series. My take on it is this: When the people don't have a voice to decide whether or not they want Biotech companies here and the Mayor Gavin Newsom rolls out the red carpet and offers tax credits to them without listening to citizens, then you can expect this kind of dissent. Same goes for the news that is bought by pharmaceutical companies that don't offer all the facts on these companies but gladly takes their money. Then when someone gets killed by side effects from these products, then they can cash in all over again on the news item. The news media loves protesters - otherwise they wouldn't have anything to report on. They could have done a story of substance about Reclaim the Commons and why this is all happening, but instead go for the superficial sensationalism that frames the protesters as "crazy".

... and then the story of the mutant street party protest against biotech industry unfortunately then becomes a story of police abuse.

"crazy" protests are more fun
